An Engagement { Anna + John }
I'm super excited for Anna + John's wedding this weekend! You'll recognize them from one of my favourite photos from the day I "sneak peeked" a few weeks ago.
For their engagement portrait session it was important to us that we captured a collection of photos that reflected who they were and what they love to do. Anna has been a cherished friend since we were both lifegaurds in highschool, and ever since I can remember her and John dating, I knew that Wednesdays were reserved for their weekly "date night". Between living distances and busy schedules they made sure to spend meaningful time together, something so very important to them. And besides being a full time stunning couple, you can see they love playing scrabble (and boggle), snacking and just hanging out by the the lakeshore with their bikes. We eventually wandered the laneways and got some late night poutine!
Can't wait for Saturday!
p.s. Check out the beautifully sequenced video from the Made In Camera team of John + Anna's love story. It was a real pleasure working beside the talented Joel and Gail!

A Wedding { Melinda + Chris }
If you`ve ever spotted me at a wedding in photographic ninja form, you'll know that I have other talented ninjas lurking around the corner snapping with me. Celine, has been there with me from the very first wedding, and I'm so proud that she's receiving more of her own commissions now; She's an absolute superstar, and deserves it all very much. I feel so privileged and honoured to join her wedding adventures. And taking on a supportive secondary role has totally refreshed my game since I get more freedom to just capture and create.
Which brings us to Melinda and Chris! Wow, what an adorable couple. They had a simple and elegant wedding right in their favourite parts of Toronto with all the personal and meaningful charm to their celebration. Yes, you bet the guys suprised Chris with their Louis XIV-period costumes, which made for a hilarious dress up at the Drake. We then met up with the gals at Trinity Bellwoods where Chris saw Melinda for the first time in her wedding gown. Did you know she handmade it herself? Absolutely gorgeous she was, and so was the smile that accompanied all day.
An ice cream stop, hailing a cab to their ceremony, homemade carrot cardamom jam gifts, nikole's beautiful cakes, and all the decorations they made themselves; I loved every detail. Even the flower jars and tins are straight out of their home. And as you can see in the last photo, the wig was knocked out after dancing with everyone that night. What an amazing party, Congratulations!
Check out Celine's post and beautiful photography.
